This special package includes the new Roto-Fab intake system, the most complete OEM quality intake system on the market for the G8 as well as our famous Vector tune for your G8. This package alone has been shown to be worth 40+ horsepower at the tires on an otherwise stock G8 when utilizing premium fuel! You wont find a better performance bargain anywhere, not to mention the fuel economy savings!

 

Vector Motorsports is proud to be the first to offer tuning solutions for the 2008 G8's and has for some time even back to the L98 based show cars. Our ECM tune allows you to unleash the full potential of your L76/LY7 or LS3 powered G8 by completely retuning the ECM to utilize premium fuel.

 

Here are just a few of the laundry list of changes we made to our G8 ECM calibration in the name of more power, reliability and drivability:
• Proprietary extensive fuel and spark mapping to utilize 91+ octane fuel
• Firmer part and full throttle shifts.
• Revised up and down shift points to take advantage of the engines RPM band and newfound power .

• Proprietary torque management adjustments. Unlike other software out there that just have an on/off toggle for torque management for the 6L Series of 6 speed autos, we can tune individual gears and every other important portion of the transmission. Want sport shifts that actually feel sporty? We can do that!

• Significant increase in fuel economy to offset the cost of premium fuel
• Rev limiter raised by 200 rpm.

Also included in the price of the tune is our comprehensive update system! This includes updating you to the newest GM base calibration at no extra cost whenever GM issues a new release. This means when you ship in your ECM it will be upgraded to the newest factory release and then retuned; those of you with early cars will also get the newer calibration that is shipping now.

This free upgrade program also includes small updates to our calibration such as: rev limiter, tire size, axle ratio, code deletes ect. Larger modifications such as camshaft/ heads and forced induction/nitrous are not included in this retune program and will incure an additional cost. 

 

Our G8 tune is available six easy ways:

1. Traditional Ship In: You ship your ECM to us, we load our G8 tune onto them and ship them back out the same day we receive them.

2. FlashXpress system: You add the FlashXpress system to your cart and we send you a cable to program your own ECM/TCM onsite using our software (Zero downtime!)

3. Core Exchange Program: For a refundable core deposit we will send you an ECM preloaded with our G8 Tune with VIN matched to your vehicle. To make this process work you'll need to perform a security relearn which takes about 30 minutes and requires cycling the key. You'll also need a Crankshaft Position Variation Learn (CASE) performed by a dealership or anyone with a Tech II or our Dashhawk Tool! (Please email us for further info, the process takes all of two minutes)

4. Core Outright: You can purchase an ECM with our tune on it thats yours to keep and swap whenever you need to.

5. In person: Travel to our Clinton Township facility and we'll be happy to load your G8 up with our calibration while you wait. The whole process is very quick, all you need to do is call to setup an appointment!

6. The PowerFlash Cable.  Using the VMS PowerFlash Cable will be just as easy as our FlashXpress System, but this cable is yours to keep. This new product is a single VIN cable with a built-in data logger.  You must add this to your cart separately. 

*****Please note, to get the max out of the ECM/TCM tune (when ordering Traditional Ship-In, Core Exchange, and Core Outright) you will need the Flash Xpress cable for the TCM tune only. I ordered the 93 octane ECM/TCM tune for my '09 G8 GT with the Rotofab intake, and it really is like night and day difference in the way the car drives. I already had a magnaflow catback but this added SO much more than it did (power-wise). The shifts are quick and very firm, and it will get a little squirly on the 1-2 WOT shift as it lays a patch every time. Makes me smile each time! The power increase is also very noticeable (especially on the interstate), and it's got a heck of a growl to it now. I'd be willing to believe at least 30whp gain, maybe more. This package is VERY well worth the money. You will not regret purchasing this CAI/tune kit I assure you!

I got the 93 octane tune for my 09 G8 GT and I can't say enough about this package, the car has much more pull, shifts much better (had the factory TCM upgrade already too) and is just a much better car than it was when I bought it. The difference is like night and day. Another bonus is with the Roto-Fab it sounds like a race car when it's revved up. Before this set up the car didn't like to take a lot of gas at once and would sometimes bog down, now it just gets up and goes. It will actually spin now with the traction control on, with it off it goes sideways, fun! It is everything you read about, unleashes the car, go for it, you won't regret it, well worth the money.
